There seems to have been some confusion amongst members of SLTC to what ‘Internal Box Leagues’ are... Quite simply they are mini leagues of 3 or 4 Doubles Pairs who play against each other and move up or down a league every month. These will start in April, if you want to join please e-mail us. If you could please enter as a pair, or state ‘partner required’. These will be up on the notice board soon!
The courts will be without Nets or Net Posts from Midday on Sunday 6th March until Thursday 10th March, the Net Posts are being painted and New Nets being attached.
The Coaching Programme is now in full swing (excuse the pun) so if you’re not already signed up to a group, come down to Spring Lane and get playing!!
February 2011 News
After a well deserved Winter Break, Tennis has now started up again at Spring Lane! There are even more Coaching Groups, Holiday Camps, Tournaments and SLTC Teams in the Colchester & District Leagues.
If you are interested in playing for Spring Lane in the Colchester & District Leagues please attend the Team Trials on Sunday 27th March April at 10am. This will help us sort out pairing and captains.
Straight after the Team Trails we ask all users of Spring Lane to join us with our ‘SPRING LANE SPRING CLEAN’ on Sunday 27th March at Midday. We will be painting, sanding, weeding, spraying and sweeping. If you’ve got a couple of hours to spare we would appreciate another pair of hands to give the site a tidy up and the fences a new lick of paint. Please bring Sandpaper, Paintbrushes, and Gardening Gloves.
All important dates for Spring Lane Tennis Club Members are now online in the 2011 Diary Dates
In a few years time, the courts will need to be resurfaced. If you are interested in joining the Funding Committee which will meet every couple of months to discuss funding options please e-mail us at sltcmembership@googlemail.com - the more people we get together, the more chance we have of securing funding so we can keep playing for years to come.
We want to make 2011 even better than last year, so dust the cobwebs off your racket and get playing!
Look forward to seeing you all soon
